Exploring Cornwall 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Dramatic coastlines, quaint harbours, pretty-as-a-picture villages, tranquil beaches, craggy headlands, ancient moorland, surf-central and views to die for. That’s pretty much Cornwall in one sentence.

If you’re looking for inspiration for a trip to Cornwall, look no further! I think I’ve covered the main hotspots in this bumper blog, which I’ve divided into north, south and west Cornwall.

I’ve also added in a separate section for the Isles of Scilly, which is in easy reach of Penzance, Newquay or Lands End and 100% worthy of a visit.

North Cornwall

North Cornwall offers dramatic coastlines, culinary delights and daredevil surf. It’s most definitely not for the faint-hearted and yet definitely for the foodies. This part of the blog explores surfy Newquay, pretty Padstow and the fisherman’s favourite, Port Isaac.

South Cornwall

The southern side of Cornwall is best known for its quaint harbours, pretty-as-a-picture villages, tranquil beaches and luscious countryside. This part of the blog ventures to Charlestown, Falmouth, Fowey, Mevagissey, the Eden Project and the absolutely stunning Polperro.

West Cornwall

The ‘Wild West’ of Cornwall is generally quieter than the north and south coastlines and as such, it attracts the walking and camping crowd who come here for the craggy headland, ancient moorland and views to die for. This section of the blog takes a look at Lands End, the Lizard Peninsula, Mousehole, Penzance, Porthleven and the gorgeous, colourful St Ives.

The Isles of Scilly

The Isles of Scilly sit around 30 miles off the South-West coast of Cornwall and comprise a whopping 140 islands (even though just five are inhabited). If you fancy a day trip (or a longer stay), St Mary’s is easy to reach by ferry from Penzance or Skybus from Lands End or Newquay – or if you’re really minted – by private helicopter!

I’d love to hear about your own Cornwall trips or any tips you may have for my next visit! Comment below 👇🏻
